Have no fear, Twinkies are coming back soon. Hostess Brands is reportedly close to picking a buyer for the iconic snack-cake brand.
Negotiations are down to two final suitors, both private-equity firms -- Apollo Global Management and C. Dean Metropoulous & Co. The latter company's food properties include Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, which could pave the way for beer-soaked Twinkies -- or maybe not.
Hostess has already agreed to deal their Drake's band to McKee Foods Corp. for $27.5 million. Drake's is known for Ring Dings, Yodels and Devil Dogs, while McKee makes Little Debbie snacks.
Hostess also dealt their six bread brands, including Wonder and Nature's Pride, earlier this month to Flowers Foods.
