I've just got to ask... In this amazing world of technology, why is it that I, a person who is not intimidated nor afraid of change, gets COMPLETELY OBSESSED with trying to figure out even the smallest computer matter?!
I love playing around with my smart phone. I'm a whiz at recording and editing audio on our studio computers. Heck I used to freaking love setting the clock on our old VCR! (Don't fool yourself, I still own one of those by the way)! But for the last week, I have been struggling to create a new signature on my work email. Trying to be savvy, I am using both text, my work logos and actually embedding hyperlinks in them too! (Man, I love the way that makes me sound so "tech-nerdish!") FOR THE LIFE OF ME, I can't get it to work where the little white boxes with the little red x's stop showing up on my sent emails! I've goggled the different issues it could be and even bugged our IT stud and Company Engineer like crazy and still... it doesn't work! You'd think I'd move on and choose something else for my email signature then, wouldn't you? Oh sure.. That's what sane people do, right?! NOPE! I'm bound and determined to make it work! (Feel sorry for me yet?!) I've always been that way! My Mom loves embarrassing me with stories of "She Thought For Sure That Round Peg Would Fit In The Square Hole" stories!
So is there a lesson that can be learned from that? We're always told never give up right? We want our kids, especially our daughters, to realize the amazing world of possibilities out there and to not only dream but achieve what many feel are impossible! So, I must think.. What would I advise my daughter to do at this stage then?
So for now, I actually take the time before an email to an important client or to someone who may potentially not yet be familiar with our Twister Website, Facebook or Twitter pages, I manually insert the correct hyperlinks to each logo (as I've done here), before I hit send on whatever email I'm writing! YES, NO KIDDING! How long will I spend the extra 30 seconds to do this.. (That is after actually remembering to do this or worse... Re-writing the same email again and re-sending the same email with the hyperlinks finally added)?! Let's just say this story isn't over, though I've learned some pretty incredible lessons so far! Though my story is " TO BE CONTINUED!" Have your ever been faced with this type of challenge and had the stick-to-it spirit to win?! I'd love to hear your story!
