So I had to run by the mall after work this evening before Physical Therapy.  I snuck into Victoria's Secret to use a coupon I had...  I say that only to amp up my street cred just a bit, as a mom of 3 in my EARLY (super early) 40's.. "The new 30" is what we're calling it now... every little bit helps, right?! Except if I was all that hip, I probably wouldn't have used a freakin coupon! Oh well.. I digress!  

I saw a girl checking out in front of me that had THE MOST BEAUTIFUL HAIR!  Cut, Color... Dynamic!  I thought, "dang she is so pretty.  I wonder who does her hair?!"  Out of no where she sees me and says, (Are you ready for this?! My kids hate when this happens cuz I act like it is WAY COOLER than probably the person who asks even remotely feels... ) "Hey aren't you Kathi Yeager?"  With that I felt totally comfortable to ask her about her amazing locks and guess what I found out? She and I share the very same ROCK STAR Stylist!  Jennifer Austin at Salon 9309 in Cassady Square, is probably the most talented and highly trained stylist with cut, color, extensions.. YOU NAME IT, she is very cutting edge!  You can walk out of her place and feel as if you can stroll right onto a fashion runway in Europe.  Yet at the same time she can make magic happen with even the most conservative and traditional styles.  Here's the exciting part, she can look at you and like the artist she is, help you find your look, even if you aren't quite sure what's best for you.

"Austin" as many of us refer to her, is a hot-shot in town! She does hair for the likes of important people... models, guys in famous bands, news anchors and even some Thunder Girls!  She's got the pictures to prove it!  She's put on shows and helped brides and bridesmaids look their absolute best on their special day.  And yet, everyone I've refered to her has said she is so humble and kind and truly interested in taking care of her clients, that there's not that feeling of being just a number and not as important as her "A-List" clientel.

If you're like me, looking forward to the New Year can be like starting from scratch... With clean the slate if you will… So why not have a fabulous new look to go with it?! Austin is really one of those people that can make you feel your absolute best! Shoot, my pictures don't even do her talent justice!

I heard someone very wise once say, "it is good to always DO Your Best, BE Your Best and LOOK Your Best!  You are very special!  You were created by someone more royal that we can fathom. As His handywork, there is great reason to always be proud and put your best YOU forward!  I tell my kids to "hold your head high, have confidence and bet the very best you, you can be everyday and by gosh... That includes taking pride enough in yourself to take good care of yourself, even your appearance!  For Heaven's sake, you only make daddy and me look bad when you don't!"  Ha Ha.  

Okay, so maybe I don't exactly SAY all of that to them, though I can't promise I don't think it from time to time!  It's great when mom practices what she preaches too...  Believing in yourself in a narscasistic, egotisical way does NO ONE any good!  However, understanding how we were strung together in miraculous perfection by Hands we can never equal, no matter what we accomplish, and living to serve that AMAZING PURPOSE HE alone has for us, is reason enough to puff up like a big old peacock and take the world by storm!  Might as well look the part! That's where Austin comes in...  

In the same way she was blessed with some of the most amazing gifts in her hair artistry, we each have specific gifts that were given to us....  

SO if the government doesn't completely screw us into a hole, the kids & visiting family don't drive us mad during the Holidays, then let's promise each other to make this New Year the best one yet!
