Valentines is quickly approaching and at our place, the kids are scrambling, preparing with treat bag and snacks for all the class parties. One thing I noticed this year, which I haven't paid that much attention to before was, about the time the girls hit fourth or fifth grade there just seems to be less choices for Valentine's cards!
So my daughter and I decided we'd just make our own! In a very "Pintrest-Like" Moment, we took upon ourselves late yesterday after school, in the hopes of coming up with just the right fitting and fun treat bags to share with the class, for her class party! I have never called myself the crafty one, but I have to give credit to my daughter who's got pretty cool ideas and thought I would share just in case you, like I, just needed a homemade touch for this year's Valentine treats!
We took some old note cards we had that were red, with little giittery hearts on them. I think we found these in that little $1 section of TarJay.
We used pinking shears to cut them in thirds... Then used a whole punch at the top, for the ribbon that will attach the card to the treat bag.
They aren't huge, but long, tag size notes, that will be a cute and sparkly accent to the gift!

I love doing crafts and projects with my kids, but my daughter's at the age when she needs something for school or what have you, not only is it her responsibility, I'm blessed that she WANTS to do it herself... Cuz I'm not really the most um... Talented at this cutsy stuff, but SHE IS! ;0)

So a few HOURS later... I think she and I finally decided, though we had a feeling of satisfaction when our project was finished and they did turn out very well and we loved our time together, yet... We still probably should to take a break from Pintrest for a while! lol
Here's how they turned out...

Do you DIY?! ... Thanks to Pintrest makes projects seem so easy! Ha Ha
Have you ever had a DIY fail?!
