Call me sentimental, but after one of my dearest friends who just lost her mom, honored her precious
late mama, sharing her most special attributes, I became inspired by the very qualities that made her mom so special. It really got me thinking about today's wife/moms... What is at the very foundation of what motivates us?
For many of us today, we are overhwelmed with a to-do list that features not just the un-ending jobs at home, but there is more pressure in the workplace now as well!
That said, when I pass from this life to the next, I would be so honored if I were remembered, even remotely close to how my friend's mom was. As a person that was a loyal and loving wife and mom, always joyful to put her family first and be their biggest fans, an ecourager and loving constant in the home! When people see my children, it be a reflection of the wonderful way they were raised by their father and me. That would be a true blessing!
Welcoming my kids with a snack and an ear, to hear all that is on their hearts! To make the kind of home that is always a comforting escape and a place to be re-charged in a healthy and Godly way!
And, to be a vivid example, illustrating the saying, "behind every successful man, is a woman who loves and encourages him unconditionally."
I spoke with Twister's Relationship Expert Bill Spence when he was in this morning for our "Relationship Thursday" show. I simply asked, in his professional opinion, what makes "An Amazing Wife?" Check out his list of characteristics:
4. Strong & Confident
5. A Selfless Mother
6. Accepting Of Self
7. Self Expressing & Has Her Own Voice
So, my question now to you is... What can you add to the list? Many of us have or had amazing moms or friends we see that we would like to imulate. What makes them special? What does your husband say blesses him most about you?
Keep adding things to the list and we'll keep sharing!
